    Hmmm, langsam verstehe ich die Welt nicht mehr. :|


    Ich habe letztes Jahr irgendwo im längsten Thema behauptet, dass es erfreulicherweise keine Verschlüsselung durch den USB-Controller gibt. Einige Tage später habe ich diese Aussage korrigiert, dass es offenbar doch eine Verschlüsselung gibt und ich beim Testen irgendwas falsch gemacht habe.


    Soeben nochmals 3/4 Platinen raus geholt und angesteckt, zum Test mit einer alten 2 TB Platte von Seagate. Mit diesem Setup kann ich Deine Aussage und die von Homwer nur bestätigen. Also entweder habe ich damals in Wirklichkeit beim erneuten Versuch einen Fehler gemacht oder das Ding verhält sich bei Seagate Platten anders. :D


    Ich werde das später nochmals genauer untersuchen, im Idealfall habe ich dann vier weitere USB/SATA Adapter. Auf jeden Fall vielen Dank für Deinen Hinweis inkl. Link und Entschuldigung für meine offenbar falschen Aussagen! :thumbup:

    Da wirkt die Installation mittels ISO plötzlich sehr unattraktiv. Wobei man da halt wirklich weiß, was/wo/wie konfiguriert ist.


    Muss ich trotzdem mal ausprobieren, sieht nach einem sehr praktischen Feature aus. :)

    Jep, genauso. Habe mir bei eBay nen Adaptec ASR 72405 günstig (zwischen 150-200€) geholt (sonst neu >500€), der kann da mit den richtigen Kabel die 24 Platten anbinden. Bin auch noch lange nicht voll. Bei mir nicht im Raid Betrieb wegen https://unraid.net/ .

    Kommt natürlich immer auch auf das verwendete (eigene) ISO-Abbild an … 8)

    Aber vollständige cloud-init-Unterstützung wäre – mit entsprechender API-Unterstützung und Zugriff auf Provider-spezifische Daten wie IP-Adresse usw., wie es einige Mitbewerber wohl bereits handhaben – durchaus begrüßenswert. Wir freuen uns schon über Auszüge der Testinstallationslogs, KB19 .

    In fact, Netcup has a long-standing reputation in China，Chinese webmasters often use money far exceeding the value of Netcup servers to buy other people's servers.I still don't understand why some users are so hostile to me，Just because I'm from a country with a prolific "北京烤鸭"?

    I think the 北京烤鸭 (Beijing Duck) part was just a joke, because Duck ("Ente" in German) is a running gag at the forums. As you can see at the avatars of some active users, we all love ducks. I'd call it the community mascot. There's also a dedicated "duck" reaction at the bottom of all posts. ^^


    Most of the time we are a very friendly community, even if your first impression might be different. :)

    die Server sind doch alle virtuell mit KVM. Was spricht eigentlich dagegen, 2 oder mehr Server zu einem zu kombinieren? Das würde mir das Leben sehr vereinfachen.


    z.B. habe ich 2 Storage-Server á 10TB und 8 GB RAM. Ich muß extra sharding mit mongodb betreiben, um beide gleichmäßig zu füllen. Geht, hat aber auch Nachteile, Kein sharding über einen eindeutigen Schlüssel möglich etc. Wenn ich da jetzt einen Server hätte mit 16GB RAM und 20TB Speicher, das wäre ein Traum! Natürlich zum Preis von 2 Storage Servern.


    Oder meine beiden RS8000, die ich nur wegen des Arbeitsspeichers habe. Da muß ich auch tricksen, einen Cluster aufsetzen und mit einem Server, der 128GB RAM hat, wäre das gar nicht nötig! Klar zahle ich gern den Preis von 2xRS8000 dafür!


    Also eine Funktion im SCP, die heißt "fusioniere diese Server zu einer Maschine" wäre perfekt!


    Wie seht Ihr das? Vielleicht nimmt sich ja ein Moderator dieser Anregung an (träum...)

    Ist sicher nicht ganz einfach, schließlich muss man dann gucken auf welchen Hosts genug Platz ist, alles nicht ganz einfach. Hier mit den vorgefertigten Verträgen weiß man genau wie viele Server eines Typs Platz auf einem Host haben, zwischendrin kann man noch mit vServer auffüllen, etc...
