  • Hello All,

I am facing slow network speed problem with my VPS:

New VPS: New KVM Version (32.1MB/s)

Anyone facing same issue with new KVM version?

    Thanks

  • Old VPS: Old KVM Version (83.5M/s)

New VPS: New KVM Version (32.1MB/s)

Out of curiosity, you compare different products and different KVM version? You can't compare apples with pears.

It would be also interesting to know, which products exactly you're trying to compare. It's also possible to get Addons for guaranteed bandwidth, depends also on your product.

  • I have servers with First Root and Het_zner with 1 Gbit/s port. Here is network test results:

    First Root 97.8MB/s

I think Netcup port speed is NOT 1 Gbit/s

    Thanks,

  • I think Netcup port speed is NOT 1 Gbit/s

You do not have 1Gbit/s uplink to the internet.

No additional fees are charged for traffic to and from your root server / vServer (VPS). On average, you will have 200 Mbit/s of bandwidth available, assuming that your root server / vServer (VPS) has a 1 Gbit/s network card. If your server uses up an average bandwidth of over 80 Mbit/s for more than 15 minutes, then the root server's / vServer's (VPS) network connection may be throttled back to avoid disadvantaging other customers. We can also offer you dedicated network cards with guaranteed bandwidth. Please contact our Support for details.

However netcup-internally there are 1Gbit/s available, so the port speed is indeed 1Gbit/s.

H*tzner has a 1Gbit/s Uplink to the internet

    Thank you for clarification!

My question is why two different VPS of Netcup showing different network speed?

    Dedicated NIC 1GBits/s = 35.70€ + Set-up fee: 20€ =O I can rent very good dedicated server! ;)

Because you share the connection with other customers. We guarantee at least 200 MBit / s for cost-effective VPS. That's what you achieve.

    Best regards
