4 days and still no server — is this normal for netcup?

  • I ordered a VPS from netcup four days ago, and the server still has not been provisioned.

    Four days.

This is a VPS, not a custom-built physical server. I honestly find it difficult to understand how provisioning a virtual server can take this long in 2026.

What makes the situation even worse is the lack of any clear information about when the server will actually become available. I placed an order, fulfilled what was required from my side, and expected to receive the service I ordered within a reasonable amount of time.

Instead, four days later, I still have no server and no meaningful ETA.

I was planning to use netcup as part of my network infrastructure, but this experience makes me seriously question whether netcup can be relied upon at all. If it already takes four days just to create the VPS, what should I expect when there is an actual technical problem?

I would like someone from netcup to explain:

    1. Why has the VPS still not been provisioned after four days?
    2. What exactly is preventing the order from being completed?
    3. When will the server actually be delivered?

Waiting four days for a VPS without a clear explanation or delivery date is simply unacceptable.

At this point I don't need another generic response asking me to be patient. I need either the server I ordered or a concrete explanation and delivery date.

  • My common answer, as I find regularly posts like this on Mondays:

    Process:

    1. Order

    2. Get invoice

    3. Pay invoice

    4. Wait for Netcup‘s accounting department to book manually the payment and release the provisioning provisioning process

    5. Provisioning process starts

As it depends on people, which work only in day shift and not on weekends, it may take time from Friday to Monday.
