Hey Guys,
We started to use a KVM server here at netcup and are curious if we can upgrade them, more memory and more cores.
How flexible are these here on netcup?

Is it a server from the offer days?
If so, no upgrade can be performed. If it is a regular server, you can upgrade to higher machines in the CCP.

Thank you hamilrat, found it under administration in the CCP with the upgrade options.

Hello,
I about to upgrade to a higher level (RS 2000 G11), and noticed the discount on the 12 month plan.If I select the 12 months for the RS2000 G11, and, let's say I want to upgrade again (RS 4000 G11) before these 12 months end is that possible and what are the consequences.
I understand that I need to stick to the 12 months. How does the billing work and what would the minimal term be if I already used , example 4 months of the 12 months. Will I be stuck for 12 months or only 8?
Thanks, -
The contract term is always 12 months. This term starts anew with every upgrade.
There is a refund for the unused time of the old server. -
On such an upgrade on already a longer time running kvm, will i have to reinstall everything oder play back some backup or is it just a resizing and changing of some parameters?

If the new KVM instance is larger than the old one (in terms of disk space), then you just need to adjust/modify your partition and, e.g., resize your file system.
If you choose one of the available upgrade options associated with your old contract, then that's all there is to it – you keep your IP addresses.
If no suitable upgrade option is available and you explicitly order a new/second KVM instance, you need to, e.g., export and re-import a snapshot, modify your partition as mentioned above, and also ensure that the new IPv4/IPv6 addresses associated with the new instance will be used.
