Poor disk performance in the new servers in USA

The machines are installed maybe 1 year apart so drivers might differ in version. But I used the provided driver disk for drivers on all servers. If I check in device manager/Disk drives/ and check the drivers, they all use microsoft driver

I'm not sure how much scientific value this has, but I tried copying the windows server ISO of 4gb on the servers. Just from one folder to another on the same drive. The US servers did that in about half the time the german servers did. This just adds to the confusion.

Ah, sorry for misunderstanding. All servers use VIRTIO driver.

You might be testing the RAM cache of the servers most of the time. I wouldn't care too much about raw numbers and just use the servers. If the performance is not good enough, change to a different server or provider.
