no display after grub

I'm having issues that I am not getting anything displayed after grub. Not sure what device is being used to output the console. Should I pass anything special to the kernel? Is there any way to switch the output in the VNC console?

Fixed the issue with making a new initrd with dracut in a chroot environment.
