Intermittent IPv6 connectivity issues

  • I have several VPS 250 G11s iv machines. They run OpenBSD 7.6.

    I recently activated IPv6 address on my egress interface and I notived that IPv6 connectivity is itermittent.

    I can definitely reach out some IPv6 hosts in the internet as well as I can reach the host from my own ipv6 laptop, so there is IPv6 connectivity both ways in some shape or form.

    However, every few minutes my machine is unreachable by IPv6 address for few minutes. Then it comes back and tye cycle continues.

    Also, I cannot ping6 google.com at all:

    Code
    # ping6 -c4 google.com
    PING google.com (2a00:1450:4001:81c::200e): 56 data bytes

    --- google.com ping statistics ---
    4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss

    Traceroute

    tcpdump shows a lot of neightbour solicitations coming from other subnets:

    Those solicitations are not from my assigned /64 prefix, suggesting that I'm sharing the link with others.

    Please advise how to deal with that issue. I'm running several machines with identical configuration with netcup competition and none of them experience similar issues.

  • The traceroute was done while the connectivity was broken? Then it is obviously a Arelion/Telia problem.

    There have been some routing problems around AS1299 in the younger past, also from German Telekom and German fiber providers.
