  • We need to talk about support (and what we're doing about it)

    It seems the error has been fixed.

    I was one of those who complained about the incident, and I had even canceled my plan. The disk was simply showing 0 to 5 IOPS, but it was resolved last night. Something I've noticed is that they've now set a disk speed of 50k IOPS. Before, one client could get 70k or more IOPS, but it could also cause others to have less. I didn't know if it was disk sharing or what. Apparently, they've assigned a fixed number of IOPS, which I think is better. I haven't seen any announcements about this new measure. I really hope they continue to improve. I've been with Netcup for about four months, and this was the first incident. Besides them, I have sites with five other providers, so I'm not someone who uses support unless it's something really serious. But it's good that they fixed the problem. I'll keep checking this week to see if everything is still working.

  • Netcup storage, the disk is broken root server rs 4000

    I've been using VPS servers for over 10 years, I've used dozens of providers, and this is the first time something like this has happened to me. I upgraded my Netcup root plan, and they simply delivered a machine with a faulty hard drive. It experienced pauses and freezes lasting 7 to 20 seconds; the longest freeze in two hours was over four minutes. So I decided to restart the server, but the problem persisted. Then I made a backup and decided to install a different operating system, switching from Debian to Ubuntu, and the problem remained. However, the disk freezes started increasing; some lasted over 20 minutes. In other words, despite having a machine with 32 GB of RAM and 12 CPUs, it's unusable if the hard drive is faulty. I canceled the plan, and they still charged me. The VPS is unusable, offline, and they're forcing me to wait 31 days without service to cancel the plan, but updating it takes only one minute. I don't know what to call this. :cursing:
