I just deleted the partially deleted file and this is what I have now:

I wonder where the "extra" is coming from.

And a du -h -d 1 does not conclude ... it gets stuck here:

    ❯ sudo du -h -d 1

    45M ./srv

    94M ./boot

    16K ./lost+found

    412K ./dev

Currently, I can only "remove" the extra unknown disk usage with a reboot ...

... and the disk is full again ...

plenty of free space left, even when download is completed ...

    hmm ... I downloaded 78.4 GB - 45.1 GB = 33.3 GB, but it occupies 131.6 GB - 67.6 GB = 63.9 GB disk space ...

    Zitat

There is "optimize disk" button in the VCP Backend.

That is correct and I did an "optimize disk" before writing this topic ...

It did not help / address this issue ...

Ein du -h -d 1 wird nicht beendet.

    Hi!

I have a VPS which recently got moved by netcup.

Since then, I have issues with "free space".

In total, I have 160 GB.

25 GB is used by OS & apps.

And system claims to have 130 GB free space.

I am downloading a 90 GB file for editing. That should leave approx 40 GB as free space ...

However, after downloading not even 80% the disk is full and I cannot finish the download.

I then have to delete the downloaded file. And the system claims still 60 GB being used. Notice that it did not go down back to the original 25 GB.

Once I reboot the VPS, the original 25 GB of used disk space is shown again.

This behavior is reproducible. I triggered a media storage optimization. But same behavior ...

Any clues what is going on?

P.S.: I do not want to download the file to my local system and edit it here as I have to sent it away afterwards. and with 50 Mbits up it is no fun ... (Hence the VPS with a sym. 2.5 Gbits)

    Screenshot 2023-09-06 at 11.09.04.png
