Well, you could have read the T&Cs as well. See https://www.netcup.eu/bestellen/agb.php.

Section 5, number 5. bullet point 3 mentions Ethereum explicitly as expressly prohibited.

Well the point is "did they consider as 'mining' something that isn't mining", ETH 1.0 was mining (working with "PoW") and is moving to ETH 2.0 who didn't do "mining" but some network operation instead (working with "PoS")... Technically this is moving from a cpu stressful usage like a continuous benchmark to something that barely use 20~30% of a CPU, like a database...

And from what I read this is because of the CPU bad usage that they forbid mining.

Given that this is a customer forum, I'd suggest asking the support (regardless of previous discussions found here–if any) in writing. They will be able to give you a reliable answer (and once they're fed up with answering the same question about a certain topic over and over again, that answer will find its way into a FAQ/the wiki/their terms and conditions).

    Ok, thanks

Hello, I read in the ToS that Netcup doesn't allow mining, I don't think ETH2 validators can be consider as mining (the CPU isn't over 50% of usages on any cores most of the time), and Netcup is the BEST to provide a big SSD storage (and hosting ETH1/ETH2 blockchain is kind of... storage consuming).
On the other part, I read that [netcup] Felix P. used a VPS as a crypto wallet.

On the same thread: https://forum.netcup.de/administration…aubt/#post89571 , it seems to detect mining based on the network usage and not the power consumption.

As an ETH2 node is basically using the ETH1 blockchain to "validate"/"sign" some blocks on the ETH2 blockchain, I would be sure this would not be detected as a mining behavior.

Also, some tutorials on the internet start recommending Netcup as ideally for ETH2 validators.

I would like to know if Netcup is against this usage of his servers, or if this can be consider as tolerated or allowed (maybe on root-servers?)
