I would suggest setting up a Firewall and only allow incomming Traffic on the Ports you need to be reachable from the Internet.

So, if you don't need the Port, you can "close" it and it can't be scaned from the outside.

bei Netcup selbst habe ich noch keinen Server gekündigt.

Allerdings bei einem anderen Anbieter, dort würde Punkt 2 zutreffen.

Zu Sicherheit würde ich selbst allerdings den Server am 01.08. schon sichern und nicht mehr verwenden.
