Upgrade question

  • I see that I have the option to upgrade a root server.

In the dropdown box, there are several options privided e.g. RS 8000 G11 12M and RS 8000 G11 iv 12M

What is the difference between those two options? I.e. what does the "iv" signify?

  • I.e. what does the "iv" signify?

To my knowledge, "iv" stands for "international version" in netcup product naming conventions, which means product descriptions are given in English—contrary to descriptions given in German with their non-marked counterparts, which previously used to be marked with "de". So they could have as well used "en" for clarity instead of "iv", which might be misread as a small letter roman numeral. Also not to be confused with server locations. (To make things worse, some webhosting products offer an "int" variant for the server location Nuremberg in the German worded versions, that offer a different set of included "international" domains (e.g. .eu/.at/.li/.ch) other than the usually included .de-domains.)
