how to transfer a server inside netcap

You could use the upgrade functionality in your customer control panel. You should keep your IP and anything else. So it is described there. I can tell you later if that works, I want to upgrade a RS 2000 to 4000, but still waiting for the system snapshot to download, in case anything goes wrong.

With the snapshot I can tell you when I am ready with it. It's the first time, I do this. I cannot tell you how long it takes, waiting still since 6 hours, that the snapshot becomes ready for downloading..

So, that went easy. No snapshot needed. Just upgraded in CCP, 5 seconds later it was done. The only thing I had to do is expand the partition from 512 to 1000 GB. For this you can mount the live CD of GParted in SCP.

• get new server
• create a snapshot on old server
• export snapshot
• import snapshot/image on new server
• expand partition
