I tried the exact same procedure on one of my servers without problem. It seems as if the DHCP Server would not hand out a valid configuration here for some reason even if the red hat virtIO ethernet driver has been installed and the adapter is shown. Any suggestions here? Setting up the IP and Gateway manual would be possible but where to find it?

Just configure it manually. DHCP is not recommended for a server. All required Data can be found in the SCP. Be aware if IPv6!

Could you try with a Linux distribution and see if DHCP is indeed not available? For example, the "Grml Live Linux" ISO uses DHCP for the network configuration (the rescue system does not, as it uses cloudinit to create a static configuration).

Can you post some screenshots of the network section in SCP and what you configured on the server?

We have resolved the issue with setting the gateway and IP address configuration manually. Thanks for assistance.
