Traffic quota has been reached, therefore the server is limited in its bandwidth.

  • Hi all,

Searched the forums, could not find it.

Brand New VPS3000 768GB disk with 0GB traffic.

Freshly started, doing a restore from an external source, after 250GB we are cut down to low network speed with the message: Traffic quota has been reached, therefore the server is limited in its bandwidth.

I thought the daily quota was 2TB not 0,25TB...

If this is the case netcup is unusable when disaster strikes, you cannot restore full speed and we are now waiting an extremely long time for the last 100GB to come in.

    Anyone experience with this?

  • You should contact Netcup support. The server may have "inherited" a previous user's traffic on that IP address. The wording of the traffic FUP is ambiguous, but I agree that it suggests a limit of 2TB per day after which bandwidth is temporarily throttled.

  • If you are sure that this is not your fault, you can call emergency support free of charge on the following number: +49 721 754 0 755 5

But be careful - if the fault lies with you, this service costs money.

  • Even after multiple days, no answer from support and a restore with veeam (on this brand new server) still caps at 200Mbit.

End of story for this server.... This is sadly not suitable for production.

I wonder if a root server vs VPS3000 would be better?

  • It is a confirmed bug, support just emailed me.

They will release a fix the coming days.

I will order a new server and test when the fix is rolled out.
